FAQs

Will this grease gun damage my DeWalt batteries?

No. The mellif grease gun includes a built-in battery management and protection system that helps prevent over-discharge, over-current, and short circuits. When the battery reaches a low-voltage threshold, the system automatically stops operation to help protect your DeWalt batteries and maximize their lifespan.

Why won't my grease gun prime?

If your grease gun won't prime or pump grease, it's usually because air is trapped inside the pump after installing a new grease cartridge. This prevents the pump from building pressure.

Common causes include:

  • Air trapped inside the grease gun (the most common reason).
  • The grease cartridge is not installed correctly.
  • The cartridge seal or pull tab was not completely removed.
  • Loose hose or fittings allowing air to enter.
  • Thick or cold grease that is difficult to pump.
  • A clogged coupler or hose.

To fix the issue:

  1. Make sure the grease cartridge is installed correctly and all seals have been removed.
  2. Open the air bleeder valve to release trapped air.
  3. Hold the grease gun upright and run it until only grease (no air) comes out of the bleeder valve.
  4. Tighten the hose and all connections, then test again.

In most cases, properly bleeding the air will restore normal grease flow.

Can it handle tough grease jobs on tractors, trucks, or heavy equipment?

Yes. With up to 10,000 PSI high pressure, this cordless grease gun is built to handle demanding lubrication tasks on tractors, trucks, machinery, and other heavy-duty equipment.
