FAQs
Will this stick pump damage my Makita batteries?
No. The pump includes a built-in battery management and protection system that helps prevent over-discharge, over-current, and short circuits. When the battery reaches a low-voltage threshold, the system automatically stops operation to help protect your Makita batteries and maximize their lifespan.
How long can it run on one battery?
Runtime depends on the battery capacity and pumping load. With a typical Makita 5.0Ah battery, the pump can run for approximately 45–90 minutes of continuous use under normal water transfer conditions.
- Larger capacity batteries = longer runtime
- High flow mode (720 GPH) uses more power
- Lower flow settings (600 / 480 GPH) extend runtime significantly
For light-duty intermittent use (not continuous pumping), a single battery can last much longer.
What is the maximum pumping height?
The maximum pumping height (max head height) is 26 FT. This means the pump can transfer water vertically up to 26 feet under ideal conditions. Actual performance may vary depending on battery power, hose length, water conditions, and pumping mode.
Can it run dry? Will it be damaged if it runs without water?
The pump is equipped with dry-run protection to help prevent damage when water is not detected. However, it is recommended to avoid running the pump dry for extended periods to maintain optimal performance and extend the pump’s service life.
How deep can it pump water from?
For depth, the pump can be submerged up to 36 inches (3 FT) while the maximum pumping height (head height) is 26 FT. Performance may vary depending on battery capacity, hose length, water conditions, and pumping mode.
Can it pump dirty water? Can I use it in a flooded basement?
Yes. This transfer pump can handle slightly dirty water from sources like flooded basements, yards, rain barrels, and ponds. The detachable sediment filter helps reduce debris intake and provides cleaner water output.
It is suitable for basement water removal and emergency drainage, but it is not designed for heavy mud, thick sludge, or large solid particles. For best performance, remove large debris before pumping.
What does the 5-year warranty cover?
Our 5-year warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. This includes issues such as motor failures, electrical component defects, and product malfunctions caused by manufacturing problems.
The warranty does not cover normal wear-and-tear parts, such as blades, brushes, filters, seals, or other consumable components that naturally wear out during use. Damage caused by misuse, accidents, improper maintenance, or unauthorized modifications is also not covered.
If you experience any product issues, please contact us with your order information and product details, and our support team will be happy to assist you.
