FAQ

How long can this water pump run on a single charge?

Runtime depends on your battery capacity. For example:

  • 5.0Ah Milwaukee 18V battery (90Wh) and a 180W motor, expect around 25–30 minutes of continuous use.
  • 9.0Ah battery (162Wh) can provide approximately 50–55 minutes.

⚠️ Actual runtime varies with flow rate setting, water resistance, and hose setup.

Why does the pump stop running a few seconds after starting?

There are a few common reasons for this issue:

  • If the battery charge is too low, the pump may shut off automatically. Try using a fully charged battery.
  • The pump has built-in protection. If there's too much resistance (e.g. a kinked hose or blocked inlet), it will shut down to prevent damage.
  • Make sure the inlet hose is submerged and not sucking air. This pump is self-priming, but still needs water to be drawn up within a few seconds.
  • A loose suction filter or poor hose connection may prevent proper priming.

✅ Tip: Keep the inlet hose height under 8 ft and ensure all connections are airtight.

Does it need to be primed before use?

No priming needed—just connect the hose, insert the battery, and start pumping.

Is this pump compatible with Makita 18V batteries?

Yes, it works with all sizes of Makita 18V batteries (Power tool battery not included).
