No. The mellif sander includes a built-in battery management and protection system that helps prevent over-discharge, over-current, and short circuits. When the battery reaches a low-voltage threshold, the system automatically stops operation to help protect your Makita batteries and maximize their lifespan.
Will this sander leave swirl marks on the surface?
No. The random orbital motion and 1.1-inch orbit diameter help minimize swirl marks, delivering a smooth, even finish. For the best results, use the appropriate grit sandpaper and avoid applying excessive pressure while sanding.
Can I adjust the sanding speed for different materials?
Yes. This cordless sander features 6 variable speed settings from 7,000 to 12,000 OPM, allowing you to choose the right speed for different applications, including wood, hardwood, furniture refinishing, and surface finishing. Lower speeds help with delicate surfaces, while higher speeds provide faster material removal.
Does this sander have dust collection and can it connect to a shop vacuum?

What does the 5-year warranty cover?
Our 5-year warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. This includes issues such as motor failures, electrical component defects, and product malfunctions caused by manufacturing problems.
The warranty does not cover normal wear-and-tear parts, such as blades, brushes, filters, seals, or other consumable components that naturally wear out during use. Damage caused by misuse, accidents, improper maintenance, or unauthorized modifications is also not covered.
